Why do I feel this exercise both in my triceps and biceps? Am i doing something wrong?
you're probably pulling up when it comes up, involving the biceps

@@Tatted-ne7tu it wouldn’t be called tricep press if it was for the chest. What grip you use depends on how comfortable it is for you.

I've burned through this machine so fast I'm like at 230 and the highest it goes is like 275 or 270 😤

You need to adjust the seat further. That is not 90 degree. Poor demonstrations.

I use this type of machine and I need more weight than it has on it. I've done 200 reps in four sets of 50 in a single visit....all at 305 pounds. (Full stack) I guess I just naturally have an insanely strong back. Never seen anybody even get close to the weights and reps I do on it.

I do 220 lbs on it but I find that my butt lifts about an inch off the seat. Is there a way to prevent this?

It is mostly lateral and medial, because its a press. The key to targeting long head is that the upper arm stays in place.

that far forward? i think that's how i slightly injured my lower back with high weight...next time i think i will go just far enough forward to still maintain a slight backward bend at the base of my spine, otherwise it reminds me of bad form "butt wink" like when people do squats too low and their spine bends forward at the base and causes spinal discs to slip out of the spine

I've been trying to work with this machine, but everytime I do, I get nothing but neck pain to the left side of my neck. Also, I cant seem to keep my upper back ok the pad.

You probably have the weak one they have on planet fitness, there is one i have in my gym that's got too much weight, that i haven't seen anyone clock.

Does the Tricep Press and the Tricep Extension (both LF machines) do the same thing? I am looking to firm up and tone what my mother delightfully calls chicken wings. (The space under my arms from armpit to elbow.)
Spot reduction is a debunked myth. Exercising a particular muscle will not reduce fat in that area. Fat must be reduced wholistically.
@@izafanime Right but if she tones the muscle there it will pop nicely if fat is reduced overall.

Thank you. My gym has one of these machines. It is the only one without written instructions. You clarified some important things about the correct use of the torso rotation. I wasn't sure before about the position of the pads against my chest. Also, I was not facing the right direction at the top of the exercise. And, I was rotating to both sides in one movement. Can't wait to use the machine again tomorrow the right way.

I felt like a complete idiot when I got on it for the first time at my gym. I stepped up while the machine was off, yet it kept moving and I kept sliding down along with it, almost lost my balance and fell off the darn thing! Embarrassing!! So if anyone can tell me how to SAFELY step onto these things, and once on, how to change the resistance and speed of the machine, I'd be forever grateful :)
I used this star trac machine at set level 15~20 and i burned around 250 cal. I don't think that is possible. calories burned in this seems to be inaccurate.
